Microsoft Xbox One Consoles soon to have Mouse and Keyboard support

Mouse and Keyboard are soon coming to Xbox One, said Microsoft in one announcement. Minecraft supports mouse and Keyboard on Xbox One but there are no updates on it. Also, games like Age of Empires can’t be played smoothly with a controller. Warframe is confirmed as one of the first games on Xbox one to support Keyboard and mouse. A patch will be received by players to play with Keyboard /mouse.

Mike YbarraMicrosoft also announced that there will be no updates to add keyboard and mouse on existing titles of Xbox One. There will be patch or updates in future games by the developers to play with Kb/mouse combinations. No announcement has been made by the company when these patches will roll out except “in the coming weeks”.

Microsoft also announced that it will partner with Razer to bring additional options of mouse and keyboard. Further reports display Microsoft and Razer to enable Razer Chroma RGB lighting support directly on Xbox in games. This will help a player to play games like Overwatch, DOTA2, and other titles.

This program by Microsoft is currently available to players in the Xbox One Insider program. Gamepad support is still a requirement for all titles, and the Xbox One can only support one mouse and keyboard per console, unlike gamepads, of which it can support several. It notes that it’s entirely up to developers on how they want to utilize mouse and keyboard support, emphasizing that the presence of mouse and keyboard can be detected, meaning a developer could potentially lock players to specific playlists based on their inputs to preserve balance. Microsoft encourages developers to monitor how mouse and keyboard players compete against gamepad players and make adjustments where necessary, while “highly suggesting” that the use of mouse and keyboard should be used in separate matchmaking rules.

The Future :

With the Keyboard and mouse support of games on Xbox One, the division between Xbox players and PC players will be filled. A game developer can bring up their title to both platforms – Xbox and PC. Currently, games like Sea of thieves have similar environment by allowing PC and Xbox gamers play together. This update from Microsoft will surely bring up the big PC titles of the Xbox version.
